Name: Enrique Figueredo
What is your role in the Prospect Park CSA? Afternoon Delivery Site Coordinator and the guy that lives really close by.
Why did you decide to become involved with the CSA? I learned about CSAs in general while working at the delivery site, Fountain Studios. What a cool idea, I thought. I knew I wanted to join the next chance I got.
What do you do when you’re not volunteering with Prospect Park CSA? I paint and carve woodblocks.
What’s your favorite place in our neighborhood? I really dig the arch at Grand Army Plaza and the gold on the Library entrance. I like that entire circle there.
What’s your favorite dish to make with CSA produce? The first time I got a box of vegetables it was heavy on the turnips. I couldn’t identify a turnip, I admit, I am new to this life. Once Google images confirmed that they were turnips, I roasted them and put them together with some spinach and goat cheese and stuff and made a salad. It was fantastic.
